In the distant dawn of a forgotten age, the fiery orange sky hovers on the brink of collapse, and the tribe of the mighty leader Ogg has fallen into disarray. A new prophecy emerges: the “million babes” – a mystical host of ancestral spirits bound in the earth – must be awakened to prevent the coming of the Great Silence. The young woman Nila, once saved from sacrifice, now leads an expedition into the under-ground caverns of her world, seeking the hidden chamber where the host sleeps.
Along the way, Nila is joined by Faru, a brash but loyal hunter whose memory of the old rites has faded, and Ika, a mysterious seer whose eyes hold visions of both past and future. Together they navigate a wild terrain where giant beasts roam, and tribal alliances fracture under the weight of fear. Ogg, now confronted by his own doubts, must reconcile his role as protector of the tribe with the rising guilt at what he once allowed. The balance between human will and primordial power hangs by a thread.

Deep beneath the scarlet skies, the chamber of the million-spirits pulses with the faint glow of ancient carvings and slumbering forms. Nila reaches out, awakening one by one the sleeping babes, and the cavern echoes with silent whispers that begin to stir the world above. But the ritual is interrupted by a rival clan, led by the ruthless Morga, who believes the spirits should be controlled, not awakened freely. She unleashes a shadow-creature from the mythic borders to seize power, and chaos follows.
A great struggle erupts: Ogg’s tribe versus Morga’s war-band, earth-spirits versus dark ambition. In the heart of the cavern, Nila faces the truth that the million babes are not weapons but guardians of balance. Faru must choose between protecting the tribe and saving the spirits; Ika must risk revelation of her secret — that she is of the same spirit-lineage as the babes themselves. Ogg, wielding a club and courage, confronts Morga in a battle that echoes through the tunnels and the wild above.

When the shadow-creature strikes the tribal villages, the awakened babes rise in shimmering forms, reclaiming the land and restoring the sky’s calm. The thousand-year faint light of the orange orb steadies, and the tribe realises that their destiny was not to dominate the spirits but live in harmony with them. The rival clan recedes, and peace returns — but on new terms.
In the final moments, Nila stands on a cliff overlooking the restored world, the million babes shimmering in the dusk. Ogg, beside her, places a protective hand on her shoulder and listens to the quiet breathing of the land. The age of sacrifice is over, but a new era has dawned — one in which humans and the ancient guardians walk together, not as masters and slaves, but as friends. And as the orange orb sets, the promise remains that even in darkness, the light of the million babes carries hope.
