Van Helsing 2 (2025) picks up several years after the events of the first movie, with Gabriel Van Helsing still haunted by his past and the curse that lingers within him. Although the Vatican has disavowed many of its old secret operations, Van Helsing continues to hunt the supernatural on his own terms, driven by guilt, vengeance, and an unshakable sense of duty. The film opens in the ruins of a Romanian monastery, where Van Helsing confronts a group of vampire priests attempting to awaken an ancient evil.
After narrowly escaping death, Van Helsing discovers that a dark prophecy is beginning to unfold. A new enemy, Lilith—the first vampire and Dracula’s mother—has risen from centuries of slumber. Unlike Dracula, Lilith does not seek control, but destruction. Her goal is to erase the bloodline of mankind, and Van Helsing holds the key to stopping her. With the help of Anna Valerious’s younger brother, who has dedicated his life to continuing the family legacy, Van Helsing sets out to uncover Lilith’s lair before she unleashes her plague on the world.

The journey takes them across Europe and into the shadowy forests of Eastern Europe, where supernatural threats grow stronger the closer they get to their target. Along the way, Van Helsing battles werewolves, banshees, and ancient spirits summoned by Lilith’s followers. The visuals are dark and gothic, with intense action sequences that blend traditional weaponry with steampunk-style technology.
One of the most striking parts of the film is Van Helsing’s internal struggle. He begins to experience visions of his past lives, suggesting that he is more than just a hunter—he is a reincarnated warrior bound by fate to face evil across the ages. These revelations force him to question his identity and the true nature of his curse. Meanwhile, Lilith, portrayed with cold elegance and terrifying power, becomes the most formidable villain in the franchise so far.

The climax takes place in a forgotten castle buried beneath a frozen lake, where Van Helsing and his allies confront Lilith and her monstrous army. In a final desperate battle, Van Helsing sacrifices part of his soul to seal Lilith away once again. Though victorious, he is forever changed—less human, more myth than man.
Van Helsing 2 delivers thrilling action, deep mythology, and a darker tone that expands the universe of the original film. It sets up the possibility for future stories while giving fans a satisfying, supernatural adventure filled with mystery, horror, and heart.
